LOR Sample 2

It gives me a feeling of pride to recommend my student, Yana Garwood for the Bachelor’s program at your institution. I was Yana’s Empowerment Technologies teacher and the homeroom teacher throughout grades 11 & 12. I was aware of her progress in academics and co-curricular contributions. I was also the supervisor of Youth for Christ, where Yana was a core member.

I have always observed her to be highly respectful to everyone around her, regardless of the situation. A concrete example of this attitude was during the pandemic when I had to communicate with all my students online. Yana was a person whose emails and texts were always pleasant and polite. Similarly, she was highly respectful and disciplined during progress meetings and listened to everything said.

Her politeness, coupled with her creativity, brings out her unique personality. As her teacher, I have observed her out-of-the-box thinking in most of her outputs for our subject and YFC media, coming up with new project ideas and making everything look appealing! For instance, she and her partner made Youth for Christ’s social media look colourful and welcoming.

Through my interaction with Yana, I can say that she is open and confident in professional settings and ensures that she presents herself appropriately. This stems from the fact that she is an excellent communicator who can listen and cooperate. However, Yana sometimes has difficulty delegating her tasks, but with encouragement from the teacher, she overcomes this and can complete everything smoothly. There was a time when Yana used to struggle with organization, but she has learned from her mistakes and improved over time, and she can now balance and finish tasks on time. Her journey of growth started with the pandemic itself. When online learning was first introduced, the applicant was hesitant to reach out and lacked confidence, but she gradually gained confidence and now expresses herself strongly.

Finally, I’d like to discuss the applicant’s strong and positive can-do attitude in everything she does and her honesty at all times. She works hard, is enthusiastic about her work, and is open about her flaws. More importantly, she responds well to constructive criticism. Her approach to solving a problem is to change her perspective and look at things through the eyes of others. She avoids taking it personally, maintains a positive attitude, and lends an ear when feedback is given. Hence her personality is one of a kind, and she enquires about how she can improve and transform the negative into a positive.

To conclude, I would say that Yana is a delightful and well-educated woman. She can thrive in any environment and consistently produce high-quality work. Therefore, I believe she would be an excellent addition to any institute.
