How long is the IELTS exam?

The IELTS exam takes approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes to complete.

How is the IELTS exam scored?

The IELTS exam is scored on a scale of 0 to 9. Each section of the exam (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) is given a separate score, and the overall band score is calculated by averaging the scores of the four sections.

How many times can I take the IELTS exam?

There is no limit to the number of times you can take the IELTS exam. However, you must wait at least 3 months before taking the exam again.

Is IELTS exam difficult?

No, IELTS exam is not difficult, and candidates can score well in exam with proper prepartion.

Will I be able to take a break during my test?

You are allowed one 5-minute bathroom break during your Listening, Reading and Writing tests.

When and how will I receive my results?

You will receive your test results 3–6 days after taking your test. You will receive an email notification with a link to access your results electronically. No paper Test Report Forms (TRFs) will be available.

How long are my IELTS scores valid for?

Your IELTS scores are valid for two years.

Can we retake one module?

Starting in March 2023, students who achieved scores below their desired target will have the opportunity to retake a specific IELTS component. This option, already implemented in countries like Australia, allows individuals pursuing international education to selectively retake an IELTS module.
